Kaiquan Shen, Ph.D.

Kaiquan Shen was a senior research fellow at the Singapore Institute for Neurotechnology (SINAPSE), National University of Singapore (NUS) from 2012-2013. Before joining SINAPSE, he was a research fellow at the Neuroengineering Laboratory at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, after he obtained her PhD from NUS in 2009.

Kaiquan is particularly interested in Neuroengineering, an emerging interdisciplinary field of research that seeks to develop innovative technologies for studying neural functions/dysfunctions and augmenting the brain. He has also worked on several brain computer interface projects funded by DSTA, MINDEF, US DARPA, and US Air Force Office of Scientific Research. He has authored/co-authored more than 20 journal papers in machine learning, EEG signal denoising, and single-trial analysis of event-evoked brain responses. In SINAPSE, he leads the Clinical and Translational Neuroengineering Laboratory, where he collaborates with leading neurologists and oncologists to develop new diagnostic and therapeutic solutions for prevention of chemotherapy-induced neuropathy.
