Multi-modal Connectivity Brain Network

The association of functional connectivity patterns with particular cognitive tasks/ psychological states has long been a topic of interest in neuroscience. We are developing and implementing connectivity analysis methods for brain networks obtained with different modalities. The functional organization of the brain is characterized by segregation and integration of information processing. Brain connectivity analysis rests upon three different but related forms of connectivity.

Anatomical connectivity, also called structural connectivity, which forms the connectom, functional connectivity is defined as the temporal dependency of neuronal activation patterns of anatomically separated brain regions and effective connectivity describes the influence one neuronal system exerts upon another, thus reflecting causal interactions between activated brain areas.
