13 May, 2015 (IRC) Conference on Science, Engineering, And Technology 2015 - Best paper award

Aishwarya Bandla secured the "Best Paper Award" at the International Researchers Club (IRC) Conference on Science, Engineering, And Technology (13-May-2015, NUS, Singapore) for the paper titled "Dynamic Neurovascular Changes during rtPA Thrombolysis in a Photothrombotic Ischemia Rat Model". Co-authors of the study include Dr. Lun-De Liao and Prof. Nitish Thakor

9-12 October 2014 IFMBE Young Investigator Award 2014

Dr. Lun-De Liao has been selected as the winner of the prestigious IFMBE Young Investigator Award (1st among 9 finalists from a total 36 applicants) for the research titled "Sensory Stimulation-Induced Neuroprotection in Hyperacute Phase of Ischemic Stroke – A Multimodal Imaging Study." YIA is awarded to scientists under the age of 35 working in the field of biomedical engineering and science. The award was presented to Dr. Liao by the IFMBE President (Prof. Ratko Magjarevic) at the banquet of the APCMBE 2014, Taiwan (Oct 9-12, 2014).

11-12 October 2014 9th Student Workshop of EABME-Best Oral Presentation Award

Yu-Hang Liu and Aishwarya Bandla won the Best Oral Presentation award in the sessions "Others" and "Biomedical Device/Drug Delivery/Neuro Engineering",respectively, in the 9th student workshop of the East Asian Consortium on Biomedical Engineering held in NCKU, Tainan, Taiwan on Oct 11-12, 2014.

23-24 September 2014 6th Models of Physiology and Disease Symposium-Best Poster Award

Aishwarya Bandla (Ph.D. student at NIL, SINAPSE and Dept. of BME, NUS) was awarded the Best Poster in the 6th Models of Physiology and Disease Symposium, organized by the Department of Physiology, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS on 23-24th September 2014 for the poster titled “Multimodal imaging of cerebral neurovascular changes in a rodent recanalizable photothrombosis model”. The study was co‐authored by Dr. Lun-De Liao, Dr. Ji Min Ling, Yu-Hang Liu, Dr. Nicolas KK King, Dr. You-Yin Chen, and Prof Nitish V. Thakor.

September 2014 Poster featured at TechInnovation 2014

PreChIN study was featured in the NUS Enterprise stall at TechInnovation 2014. The poster received good response. The study team includes Dr. Raghav Sundar, Aishwarya Bandla, Dr. Lun-De Liao, Prof. Nitish Thakor, and Prof. Einar Wilder-Smith.

4 July 2014 NCAM 2014 - Best Poster Award

NIL team won the Best Poster award in the category of Nursing/Supportive Care at NCIS 1st Annual Research Meeting organized by the Department of Physiology, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, NUS on 4th July 2014 for the poster titled "Hypothermia for Preventing Chemotherapy-Induced Peripheral Neuropathy. Part 2: A Safety & Tolerance Study in Healthy Controls". The team consisted of Dr. Raghav Sundar, Aishwarya Bandla, Venkatesh H. Ramakrishna, Prof. Nitish Thakor, and Prof. Einar Wilder-Smith.

14 May 2014 BME Showcase 2014 - Best Poster Award

Aishwarya Bandla (Grad student at NIL, SINAPSE and Dept. of BME, NUS) was awarded the Best Poster in the BME Showcase 2014, hosted by NUS Department of Biomedical Engineering on May 14, 2014 for the poster titled "Neuroprotection Induced by Sensory Stimulation in the Hyperacute Phase of Ischemic Stroke -A Multimodal Imaging Study". The study was co-authored by Yu-Hang Liu, and Dr. Lun-De Liao of the Neurovascular Imaging Laboratory at SINAPSE.

12-13 March 2014 8th Student Workshop of EACBME - Best Oral Presentation Award

Aishwarya Bandla (Grad student at NIL, SINAPSE and Dept. of BME, NUS) was awarded the Best Oral Presentation for her talk titled "A Multimodal Imaging Study of Neuroprotective Functions in Hyperacute Stroke by Peri-Infarct Activations", in the Biomedical Devices/Neuro Engineering session at the 8th student workshop of the East Asian Consortium on Biomedical Engineering held at Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan from 12 to 13 March 2014. The study was co-authored by Yu-Hang Liu, Dr. Lun-De Liao of the Neurovascular Imaging Laboratory at SINAPSE.

2014 PreChIN project wins NRF's 10th POC Grant 2014

A team from SINAPSE wins NRF's 10th POC Grant 2014 for the project "Preventing Chemotherapy Induced Neuropathy (PreChIN)" lead by Prof. Einar Wilder-Smith and comprising of Dr. Kaiquan Shen, Dr. Raghav Sundar, HR Venkatesh, Aishwarya Bandla, Josue Orellana, Yu-Hang Liu and Dr. Lun-De Liao.

18-20 November 2013 IEEE LSGCC 2013 - Outstanding Poster Award

Yu-Hang Liu, a graduate student of the Neurovascular Imaging Laboratory at SINAPSE, won the Outstanding Poster Award at the IEEE Life Sciences Grand Challenges Conference held in Singapore from December 2-3, 2013 for the study titled "Reversibility of Cortical Functions during Acute Ischemic Stroke via Sensorimotor Stimulation" co-authored by Aishwarya Bandla, Prof. Nitish Thakor and Dr. Lun-De Liao.

18-20 November 2013 7th Student Workshop of EACBME - Outstanding Oral Presentation Award

Aishwarya Bandla, a graduate student of the Neurovascular Imaging Laboratory at SINAPSE, won the Outstanding Oral Presentation Award for her talk "Reversibility of Cortical Functions during Acute Ischemic Stroke via Sensorimotor Stimulation" in the Neural/Tissue Engineering session of the 7th East Asian Consortium on Biomedical Engineering held on 18-20 November 2013 at the National Taiwan University, Taiwan. The co-authors of this study include Yu-Hang Liu and Dr. Lun-De Liao. Aishwarya also contributed as a committee member representing National University of Singapore. The workshop was jointly organized by Tohoku University, National Taiwan University, National Cheng Kung University and National University of Singapore.

24 February 2013 2012 ISCBFM Young Investigator Travel Award

SINAPSE fellow Lun-De Liao received the 2013 Young Investigator Travel Award from International Society for Cerebral Blood Flow and Metabolism (ISCBFM) for his work on "Study of the Stroke Neuroimaging using functional Photoacoustic Microscopy".
